Frequently Asked Questions

Is Feng Shui a Religion?
No, it is a 6000 year old science of probability, mathematical formulae and statistical observation.

What is Feng Shui?
The words Feng Shui translate as 'wind' and 'water' and indicate the most effective ways to attract Sheng Chi energy into the home or work environment. Personally, I have found Feng Shui to be a mixture of 30% mathematics, 50% psychology, symbolism and subconscious conditioning, and 20% pure magic.

Is Space Clearing a Feng Shui Practice?
No, Space Clearing is a practice for removing and de-cluttering stale energy blockages from a room, and is used in conjunction with Feng Shui. The two methods work well together.

Where do I find my Wealth Corner?
According to 8 Mansions Formulae, the Southeast sector of your home and garden brings abundance energy, often associated with the accumulation of wealth. During the year 2001, the annual 7 star is located in the Southeast, indicating current prosperity in an abundance sector. Your home and office also have separate Flying Star natal charts, which indicate where we would find the 7 and 8 water stars to enhance for further 'current' and 'coming' prosperity abundance energy. By using the Traditional Luo Pan compass and more advanced Feng Shui Formulae, (eg the 120 Bags of Gold), we can fine-tune your abundance areas even further. There are also Water Dragon formulae, which if positioned correctly, can be very powerful in attracting further abundance energy to the home or office.

Can Feng Shui help me find True Love?
Through Feng Shui, we can identify the appropriate areas to enhance for your personal relationships chi. We can also investigate the chi flow, poison arrows, mountain stars and symbolism within your home and identify any blockages to your romance energy. We also need to investigate your relationships history and current attitude to see whether there is a blockage in you personally as well.

What Qualifications should I look for in a Feng Shui Consultant?
First of all, they need to use a compass to accurately identify your appropriate sectors and best directions. They should also be familiar with the Lou Pan Compass. Ask about their formal training. It is not acceptable that they should audit your home if they have simply read a few books. Would you allow a would-be doctor who has simply read a medical journal to do the same with your body? Feng Shui mathematical and elemental formulae can be very powerful and need to be treated with respect. If an inauspicious sector is enhanced (through lack of training and understanding), then the health and well-being of the occupants could be put at risk.

They must have an extensive knowledge of and understanding of at least Landform Feng Shui, 8 Mansions and Flying Star Feng Shui. Some Consultants also specialise in areas such as the 4 pillars of Destiny and Water Dragon Formulae. There are many long-winded, complicated Chinese names for the above formulae and their derivatives, but they are all also known by these simpler terms.

Ask for referrals from previous clients. Prices vary tremendously. Generally speaking, you should expect to pay between $300 - $2000 for a Feng Shui Audit, depending on the size of the premises and services required. Some Consultants charge by the hour, others by the square metre and so on. Some Feng Shui Consultants refer to themselves as "Master" without having any real formal training. If you are unsure, ask them how they came to be called Master and who their 'Si Fu' is. As with any business, you need to shop around and check your facts first.

Can I Hang A Bagwa Mirror inside the Home?
No, no and emphatically, no! It is only meant to be hung outside the home to repel sha chi, and only if it is seen as the appropriate cure. Often there are other much more effective methods one should consider first.
